Where Our Information Comes From
Lender records on Canada Business Loan.ca use publicly available information from provider websites, government sources (ISED, BDC), third-party review platforms (Trustpilot, Google Business Profile), and provider-supplied data when a profile is claimed. Every factual field links to its source with an observed date.
How Facts Are Verified
Each factual claim in a lender record is attributed to a specific source URL and stamped with the date it was observed. If a fact cannot be verified from a public source, it is marked "Not publicly stated" rather than guessed. We do not infer eligibility requirements, pricing, or products from vague marketing language.
Observed Dates
Every piece of data includes an "observed_at" date indicating when the information was last checked. Provider details may change — we encourage users to verify current terms directly with the provider.
Corrections Policy
If you believe information on a lender record is incorrect or outdated, you can submit a correction. We review all submissions and update verified facts promptly. See our Corrections page to submit a request.
Review-Source Methodology
Third-party review scores (Trustpilot, Google) are displayed as separate snapshots with their source, score, review count, and observed date. We do not merge scores from different platforms into a single composite rating. We do not generate a proprietary Canada Business Loan star rating. Review themes are summarized from publicly available review content — we do not reproduce large quantities of review text.
Sponsored Placement Policy
Lender profiles may be marked "Featured" or "Sponsored" when a provider pays for enhanced visibility. Paid placement is always clearly labeled. Paid placement does not alter factual review summaries, requirements, cost data, or cautions. Unclaimed profiles remain fully functional and factually complete.
Affiliate / Referral Disclosure
Canada Business Loan.ca may receive a referral or marketing fee from a participating provider when an application is referred, accepted, or funded. This does not affect the cost to the business applicant. Affiliate links are used where a verified referral relationship exists. Non-affiliate provider links go directly to the provider website.
Provider Right of Reply
Providers may claim their profile to update provider-supplied fields such as business description, products, logo, and contact information. Claimed providers cannot delete independently sourced third-party review data or factual information sourced from public records. Providers may submit corrections for factual errors.
